Celebrating a Decade in IT

Today marks an incredibly special milestone for me – a full decade of adventures, challenges, and achievements in the ever-evolving world of Information Technology. As I look back, I’m filled with gratitude for the journey that has brought me to where I stand today: proud to be a Senior Systems Engineer at PFF.

My journey kicked off in 2014, not with a grand entry, but humbly, as a volunteer in IT Support.

This initial step was driven by curiosity and a genuine passion for technology, setting the stage for what was to become a rewarding career. By 2015, I embraced the role of an apprentice, diving deeper into the complexities of IT, a learning phase that lasted until 2017 and shaped the core of my technical abilities.

Transitioning from an IT Apprentice to an IT Support Analyst, I spent four enriching years (2017-2021) honing my skills, solving problems, and learning the art of turning chaos into order. My journey took a new turn as I joined the team at Durham University as a Service Desk Tech from October 2021 to 2022, a period that offered me a broader perspective on IT’s role in educational environments.

The path then led me to Pickerings Lifts (July 2022 – August 2023), where I continued to grow, adapting to new challenges and technologies, further solidifying my expertise in the field. And now, I stand as a Senior Systems Engineer at PFF, ready to take on the world with the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered over a decade.

In the spaces between, my passion for IT never dimmed. Whether it was delving into the realms of Cryptocurrency, exploring the creativity of Web Development & Design, or immersing myself in Media Studies, I’ve continuously found ways to engage with technology, pushing the boundaries of what I know and can do.

As I celebrate this 10-year milestone, I’m reminded of the journey’s lessons, the resilience built along the way, and the countless individuals who’ve supported me through it all. Here’s to the past decade of growth and the many more discoveries and opportunities that lie ahead.

Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of my story. Here’s to continuing to innovate, learn, and lead in the field of IT. The journey is far from over, and I can’t wait to see what the next decade holds!
